The Initial Compilation of case studies is by 3 eighteen years olds from Christ college namely Tejhas, Luniwa & Govind studying as first year students in Christ (Deemed to be University), and pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Their contribution was based on their interest in social service and connecting with the underprivileged, giving back to them.
Dhanyatha was an 18-month-old who needed emergency surgery to fix a hole in her heart. Her father, an assistant accountant used to make barely INR 12000 a month. Her mother is a housewife. The cost of this surgery for their daughter was beyond their means. The mounting cost to keep their child alive was becoming unviable, the Rotary Foundation stepped in. The Rotary Bangalore indiranagar chapter along with Needy Heart Foundation decided to support this surgery at the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology. The surgery was successfully performed in Nov 2015.

Today Dhanyatha is a bubbly 3-year-old. Her parents Vasant Kumar & Vanitha are thrilled to have their little one healthy & happy. They are thankful to the Rotary & Needy Heart Foundation for making their family whole!
The Rotary along with the Needy Heart Foundation have made over 10,000 surgeries possible in the last 15 years. The indiranagar chapter of the Rotary alone have made over 250 surgeries possible for children in 2016. All of these surgeries are almost completely free of cost & help many underprivileged families become whole again.
“I chose to take this challenge of talking to a few patients that have been through a whole lot in their life, but continue to live their life like they have all they need. Even though we hear a lot of stories from people about people in situations like these. It’s a totally different experience to meet them upfront and just seeing how spirited they are despite their circumstances. I have written the following cases in the form of stories to enable the reader to connect to the case a little better.”
